OBA GHANDI COMPETITION DEBUTS IN OGBOMOSO, ORGANIZERS TO UNVEIL FORMAT AUG 27

A new football competition, the Orumogege Football Competition, is set to debut in Ogbomoso, Oyo state, as part of the one-year ascension anniversary celebration of the Soun of Ogbomosoland, His Imperial Majesty Oba Ghandi Afolabi Olaoye Orumogege III.

The competition, an initiative of the Ogbomoso Community Youth Forum (OCYF), aims to discover and develop young talents in football. According to a press release signed by the chairman and secretary of the organizing committee, Mr. Amos Ado and Dr. Adeniji Idowu, respectively, a press briefing has been scheduled for August 27 at the Ogbomoso Recreation Club to unveil details of the competition.

The press briefing, set to commence at 3 pm, will provide information on participating teams, match fixtures, and winners' prizes. The competition has received the endorsement of Oba Ghandi, who sees it as aligning with his 25-year development plan for the city.

The Orumogege Football Competition is expected to promote grassroots football development and provide a platform for young players to showcase their skills. With the support of the monarch and the OCYF, the competition is poised to become a flagship event in Ogbomoso's sporting calendar.
