LAUTECH Management Inspects Late Akintola's Country Home, Set to Renovate, Utilize as Research Center

Ogbomoso, Nigeria - The management of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH) on Friday conducted a tour of the country home of the late Samuel Ladoke Akintola, former Premier of the Western Region. The property, donated by the Akintola family to LAUTECH in 2023, is set to be renovated and utilized as a research center.

Led by Chairman of the Governing Council, Professor Deji Omole, and Vice Chancellor, Ogbomoso born Professor Rom Kalilu, the team inspected the facility, which boasts impressive features such as an Olympic-standard swimming pool and a zoological garden.

Professor Omole expressed gratitude to the Akintola family for their generous donation, stating that the Council had approved the renovation and utilization of the house by the university management. He also directed that the family be appreciated for their gesture.

The renovation of the property is expected to commence soon, with the university set to put the facility to use as a research center.
