NIRSAL Partner MTN, Train Beneficiaries In Ogbomoso - Hon.Jacob Ajao

Nigeria Incentive-Based Risk Sharing System For Agricultural Lending, NIRSAL, partnered MTN, trained beneficiaries on Anchor commercial funding borrower program.

The training was to give indepth knowledge about the program and how to receive lecture on advance farming, at the comfort zone of the farmers with the use of USSD code.

The Programme which was to create a linkage between anchor companies involved in the processing and small holder farmers of the required key agricultural commodities. The programme involve provision of farm inputs in kind and cash (for farm labour) to small holder farmers to boost production of these commodities, stabilize inputs supply to agro processors and address the country’s negative balance of payments on food. 
At harvest, the SHF supplies his/her produce to the Agro-processor (Anchor) who pays the cash equivalent to the farmer’s account.

The training was held at Ogbomoso North Local Government, secretariat, Kinira Ogbomoso, where beneficiaries were given MTN sim which will be use to receive lecture at the comfort zone of the farmers without internet barrier, the beneficiaries received and registered sim at no cost.

Hon.Oyadiran, the Chief of Staff, to Hon.Ajao Jacob Adejumo, appreciated the NIRSAL officials that tends to the beneficiaries and urge the Farmers to make good use of the program.

The beneficiaries were drawn from farmer associations in the Constituency without political affiliation and as well as some recognized individuals.
