The Oyo State Government has commissioned the Kajola Ultra-Modern Market in Ogbomoso, marking a significant milestone in the administration's efforts to expand the state's economy. Acting Governor Barrister Abdul-Raheem Adebayo Lawal, who represented Governor Seyi Makinde, emphasized the government's commitment to liberalizing the economy and promoting trade.
The market, constructed within four months, features 120 lock-up shops, 84 open shops, toilets, an abattoir, and an administrative block. The government has urged the Ogbomoso South Local Government chairman and the people to ensure adequate security and maintenance of the facility.
The commissioning is part of the Makinde administration's Omituntun 2.0 roadmap, focusing on economy, education, healthcare, and security. The government has assured that the dividends of democracy will be extended to all citizens.
