Lautech Honorary Doctor Awardees Donated, World Class Laboratory, Lecture Theatres, Family Donates Akintola Building amid 15th Convocation 

The Ladoke Akintola University Of Technology, 15th Convocation ceremony award of higher degrees and conferment of honorary degrees was commemorated earlier today, April 29, 2023, at The Great Hall.

The ceremony witnessed a good turnout of graduates and their well-wishers who came out to celebrate the milestone.
The convocation ceremony commenced with a procession and recognition of notable individuals ranging from Barrister Adebayo Lawal, the deputy governor of Oyo State, Ademola Adeleke, the executive governor of Osun State, the University chancellor, Prof M.O Liasu, the acting Vice Chancellor of the university, amongst others.
 

A total of 1,962 students earned Their post-graduate degrees. The breakdown of the figure includes 55 new Ph.D. holders and 1,883 graduates with Master’s degrees. A cumulative total of 24 also went home with Postgraduate Diplomas.

Four individuals were also given Honorary Doctorate Degrees, Air Vice Marshal J.B. Adigun, Ambassador Hassan Ardo Tukur, Mrs Victoria Adunola Samson, the CEO/MD, of Bovas Petroleum, and Prince (Dr) Tayo Adeyemi Adiatu, who happens to be the first LAUTECH alumnus to be given an Honorary Doctorate Degree.

Air vice marshal J.B while speaking on behalf of all Honoris causa doctor Awardees, made a pledge of building a world class Laboratory of the institution choice, stating this is just the start. While Prince Tayo Adiatu who is the first alumnus of the institution having graduated from chemistry department 23 years  ago Donated a 700 sitting capacity lecture hall to the faculty of applied Sciences, Another recipients of the Honoris , Mrs Victoria Samson of Bovas group of company earlier built a befitting academic structure for the institution. The Registrar of the institution in his speech announced the donation of the massive house belonging to the late premier of defunct Western Region Chief Samuel Ladoke Akintola whose university was named after as – Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso. The information since has received a loud applause.
The vice-chancellors of some institutions in the country were also present, Prof. Segun Odunola (Hallmark University), Julius Oloke (Precious Cornerstone University), Professor Omololu Oladele Fapojuwo( KWASU), and others.

In a similar vein, the 15th Convocation ceremony award to first degrees/ Awards of prizes, was held yesterday including the Open Distant Learning Students.
