OGBOMOSO – Benjamin Onigbinde, the President of Ogbomoso Business Roundtable, has commended the recent unveiling of a cashew processing plant at Epe, in Lagos, by construction giants, Julius Berger, describing the development as capable to giving a boost to the nation’s economy.
The Sigvent Property Trust Limited CEO Mr Onigbinde, who led the Ogbomoso delegation to the unveiling, said Ogbomoso is the biggest supplier of most quality cashew in the African market, adding that this development will provide an already made market for cashew farmers in Ogbomoso.
He said; “I believe diversification of the company as a construction giant to the agriculture sector is an indicator of the next big business in the economy.”
Onigbinde said Ogbomoso being the second largest city in Oyo State is looking forward to hosting Julius Berger as the pioneer company in the proposed Ogbomoso Agro-Processing Zone.
“I took a facility tour of the plant and was highly impressed with the speed of technology employed. We believe the next big sector in the economy after oil is agriculture processing and as a community, we are having the best agriculture products for the market, not only in cashew but also in mango, cassava and Maize.
“We look forward to having the company at the Ogbomoso Economic and Investment Summit coming up in November 23-24, 2022 with the theme: Exploring Economic Potentials of Ogbomosoland: Engage, Collaborate and Invest,” he concluded
