Hon Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Chief Sunday Dare pays a condolence visit to the family of Late Gov Christopher Adebayo Alao-Akala(Former Governor of Oyo State) in Ogbomoso on Thursday, 13th January, 2022.

The minister who just got back from the African Nations Cup in Cameroon, described the former governor as the man of people.


”He further disclose that, the sadden news of the former governor Akala, whom he described as his elder brother, astute political statesman and man of the people, came with a huge sense of loss, shock and pain. His death not only came suddenly, but quite devastating. He was like a big brother to me, so his death has robbed me of a dear one who was so passionate about the development of Ogbomosho, Oyo State and Nigeria at large.

In a devastating incident, a yet-to-be confirmed number of 500-level Accounting students from Ladoke Akintola University (LAUTECH) in Ogbomoso, Oyo State, lost their lives in a fatal accident while returning from an excursion to Erin-Ijesa Waterfall in Osun State. The incident occurred on Wednesday evening, September 27, as the students were making their way back from the excursion. The ill-fated bus carrying the students was involved in an accident that resulted in a fire outbreak along the Ilobu-Okinni-Osogbo road in Osun State.
