In my years on this planet, I have witnessed so many deaths of loved ones, but very few shocked me and left me in a state of disbelief like that of my boss, leader and mentor, OTUNBA Adebayo Alao-Akala . Of course, as a Muslim, I believe that death can come at any time, whether one prepares or not, however, that of ALAO came like a dream. ALAO was truly a man of the people, a grassroots politician admired by big and small in his hometown (Ogbomoso) and countryside. JUST IN: Alao Akala To Be Buried On 18th Of February, Gets Beffiting State Burial.

Alao-Akala's Family annouces burial arrangement of the erstwhile Governor of oyo state. Alao-Akala, to be buried on 18th of February, in his hometown Ogbomoso, Oyo state. The family with the state government disclosed that the lying in state will be held at the house of chiefs, oyo state government Secretariat, Ibadan while the hearse  motorcades depart to Ogbomoso for internment. The five days event in the honor of the former oyo governor, which will commence on 14th of February, tagged "Day of tribute with Political class" will be held at Ibadan, Jogor centre, while the praise night event will be held at his ogbomoso resident on 15th of February. Parts of the final burial events as outlined by the family are, Cultural Display and Nigeria Police Parade, Christian wake-keep and song of service, Final burial Service, interment, reception and entertainment of guest will all be held at Ogbomoso while, Lying in state and day of Tribute will come up in Ibadan. Youth empowerment: SOA partners Microsoft to train 1000 youths across Ogbomoso.

2023, Ogbomoso North House Of Assembly Hopeful, Hon. Shittu Olaitan Abede popularly known as SOA, in partnership with Microsoft Skill Training, has initiated  an empowerment and skill acquisition programme to train over 1000 youths across Ogbomosoland. According to the scheme, each candidate who takes part in the empowerment will be issued certificate of participation after successful completion of the training. While speaking on the empowerment programme, SOA affimed that "Today's youth are tomorrow's leaders, if the youth learn today, tomorrow they will either impact lives, lead or teach.” “If the present generation is appropriately educated and instructed, the coming one is for sure to be even more properly educated and taught, the youths must be properly educated as they will shoulder the leadership tomorrow. THOUSANDS of people gathered at Randa Alao Akala Resident in Ogbomoso, on Wednesday between 2 and 4 p.m. for a candlelight night in memory of former Governor, Alao-Akala. Politicians, activists, journalists, civil society actors, and well-wishers were among those who attended the candlelight gathering, which was organized by the "Akala and Beyond group" and themed the walk and candle procession "Akala and Beyond." Various people read tributes while signing a condolence register. Following the prayer for the deceased family, a candlelight procession was held. The Honourable Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Chief Sunday Dare received the  National Leader of All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu in Ogbomoso today, 15th day of January 2022. Ondo State Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu,SAN, on Friday visited Ogbomoso, Oyo State, to condole with the families of the late Soun of Ogbomoso, Oba Jimoh Oyewumi, and former Governor of the state, Otunba Adebayo Alao-Akala.  Governor Akeredolu visited the palace and Akala’s residence with his adorable wife, Chief Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu.  On the Governor’s entourage were the Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Donald Ojogo, and the Chief of Protocol, Bola Alabi Esq.  Speaking at the Palace, Governor Akeredolu described the late monarch as a rare Soun in Ogbomoso, adding that he was a king who loved his people.  “There are lots of stories, but a rare Soun is gone. This palace is an evidence to show that Baba was totally committed to this town. He believed that Ogbomoso must progress. His reign witnessed tremendous development.   “He didn’t compromise on many things. One of the things I admired about him was his carriage. He was born a King.

Adeniran Ezekiel Olaprayer has mourned the death of Otun Of the Source, His Excellency, Otunba Dr. Christopher Adebayo Alao Akala, Former Governor Of Oyo State.
