Pandemonium broke out in Ilosin, a village in Iresaadu town in the early hours of today. It was established that Ilosin is witnessing this attack for the fifth time in two months.

Ilosin has been enmeshed in an age-long boundary crisis with Olorunda LCDA in Osun State. A situation which has been causing unrest, inflicting of bodily harms and destruction of property of anyone suspected to be from Oyo State.
                              (Suspect Jimoh Aminu)

The attacks were instigated and led by one Jimoh Aminu, a one-time Councillor of Iresaadu between 2004 to 2007 until his arrest this morning when he led another round of violent attack on Oyo State residents of Ilosin village.

The suspect,Jimoh Aminu, who is now a Councillor in Olorunda LCDA was arrested by combined team of Operation Burst, Agro Rangers, Amotekun and Police after receiving a distress call from Onilosin of Ilosin, Chief Mutiu Ajani Adesina whose house came under attacks this morning.

Jimoh was alleged to have been a mercenary for shipping in people from Oyo State to Osun State to vote during elections in Osun.

During our chat with Chief Mutiu, it was established that Jimoh once led a group of thugs to prevent workers from working on a school building project embarked upon by Oyo State SUBEB which led to the arrest of the workers on trumped up charges before they were later bailed.

“We are not allowed to use all the basic amenities put in place for us by the government because Jimoh and other people from Osun State will not allow us to use them.

“The boundary dispute is still in court and the judge in charge has already given an order for status quo to remain but Osun people want us to vacate the village for them because they want to take over the place.

 Eye witness Reports....

Onilosin’s wife
“They came to attack us this morning because my children went to fetch water from the borehole serving the whole village. My house was vandalised. My things were carted away. My wife was beaten and chained. It took the intervention of the combined team of Operation Burst, Agro Rangers, Amotekun and Police to rescue her”.

Onilosin’s wife who has remained unconscious since the time of the attack is currently under an intensive care in an undisclosed hospital in Ogbomoso.

While appealing for calm, the Chairman of Surulere Local Government, Hon. Adegbite Isaiah Alaba said legal means will be pursued to prevent further violent attacks on Oyo State residents in Ilosin.
