No Rejection Letter Yet, Head Of Sòun Kingmakers Replies Makinde

The head of kingmakers in Ogbomoso High Chief Sobalaje Otolorin has stated that the kingmakers never received any correspondence from the Oyo state government whether rejecting or approving its recommendation for the new Soun of Ogbomosoland.

Ogbomosoinsight recalls that Oyo state governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, Saturday during a live radio interview in Ibadan, said he rejected the recommendation for the new Soun because there were court cases challenging the nomination noting some people claimed they were excluded.

Engr. Makinde, who has the power of approving the nomination by the kingmakers emphatically hammered he rejected the nomination on the ground of legal cases.

However, High Chief Otolorin, who is also the Areago of Ogbomosoland, has replied the governor affirming non-receipt of any rejection communication whether verbal or written.

Responding to a question during a phone chat with correspondence from Ogbomosoinsight this morning, the Areago asserted, “We did not receive any correspondence rejecting our nomination for the new Soun.

“Perhaps those sent to convey the message are still on the way,” he remarked." But as at this morning we never got anything of such.”

Pressed further to speak on the governor’s disclosure High Chief Sobalaje declined pointing out the matter is in court.

He nonetheless submitted that the two persons in court were part of those screened by the kingmakers adding, “and they only went to court months later after we had submitted the name of our nominee. We submitted the nomination on March 23, they went to court in about July or August.”

He won’t be drawn further into the matter, Prince Afolabi Ghandi Olaoye, an international businessman, a global citizen and pastor, was the nominee of the kingmakers, recall that twenty three princes contested the throne of soun.
