Ogbomosho Born politician, Shittu Olaitan Splashs N1m On Constituents, Vow to Register 100 Candidates For Jamb in 2022.

An Ogbomoso born politician Shittu Olaitan Abede (SOA), fondly called IRE A'KARI has splashed N1million on Members of All Progressive Congress(APC) from Ogbomoso North Local Government of Oyo state through his foundation, Shittu Olaitan Foundation (SOF) as part of his Christmas and new year give away.

Shittu who hails from Abogunde ward' 01 in Ogbomoso North LG, surprised 100 members of APC with a minimum of #10,000 each. The event which was held on Monday in Ogbomoso at the office of Honourable Minister of Youth and sports development, Chief Sunday Dare attracted a large crowd of Ogbomoso enthusiasts, who cheered as beneficiaries smiled home with cash.

While flagging off the distribution of the Cash, Shittu stated that the gesture is in line of the principle of his late father Chief Shittu Abede, who was a titan philanthropist and among the 12 founders of Ogbomoso central mosque. He said the programme includes one out of many means to achieve the objective of his foundation (SHITTU OLAITAN FOUNDATION) and born out of His Excellency’s passion.

He noted that despite the challenging economic situation in the country, interventions in the areas of access to sound and quality education, provision of scholarships for students, as well as, supporting the youths and women development must be paramount on the agenda of the government. In lieu of this he would be obtaining Jamb forms for selected Students from Ogbomoso North in 2022. He however enjoined the beneficiaries to make use of what they benefited appropriately for them to enjoy delicious meals during  the Christmas and New year celebration.

A beneficiary,  Iya tanwa in an interview with  our correspondence, after receiving her cash grant, thanked Shittu for the gesture and promised to use it appropriately.

In his remarks, the APC Leader from Ogbomoso North, Barr Dapo Atanda commended the efforts of the donor Hon Shittu, just as he urged the beneficiaries of the money to make good use of the cash to enable them celebrate Christmas and New Year festivals comfortably. According to him" Shittu seeks to engender and promote peaceful coexistence and development for the betterment of socio-economic wellbeing of the common people in our society. I urge all beneficiary to use the cash appropriately".

Also speaking , the Federation of Ogbomoso Students Union (FOGSU) led by their president  Comr Abiodun Adediran, presented Leadership Achiever's Award to Hon Shittu Olaitan, and also commended him for his social welfare programmes for the students and good people of Ogbomoso, adding that other politicians should learn from shittu how to improve the well-being of the citizens and reduce poverty drastically in Ogbomoso land. In appreciation of the award presented to him, Shittu  noted that, his foundation will register 100 jamb candidates in Ogbomoso north LGA and also organise academics tutorials to further encourage their performances. He rounded-off his statement by saying, the gesture is purely humanitarian, and enjoined elites in our society to help the poor and vulnerable citizens across Ogbomoso North to access better life and quality education.
