The Governing Council of the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso, Oyo State, has appointed Professor of Art and Art History, Razaq Olatunde Rom Kalilu, as the new Acting Vice-Chancellor of the institution for six months.   Kalilu joined the services of LAUTECH on September 1, 1992 and was pronounced a Professor of Arts and Arts History in the Department of Fine and Applied Arts, Faculty of Environmental Sciences, 24 years ago on October 1, 1999. The Honourable Minister of Youth and Sports Development Chief Sunday Dare has commissioned an 80 Bed Mother-Child Hospital and Maternity in Ogbomoso, Oyo State. In the wake of the Ogbomoso LAUTECH recent protests, a youth foremost group Ogbomosoland Togetherness Youth Forum Worldwide, has released a statement distancing itself from the protest and calling for peace. The organization also urged the governor seyi Makinde led administration to act swiftly on his promise of making the university a conventional university with additional faculties in Ogbomoso Campus.
