Tope Maggie, who hails from Ogbomoso, will attempt to cook for 140 hours and 20 minutes, surpassing the current record of 120 hours set by Hilda Baci. Tope Maggie's attempt is scheduled for November 2023 in Ibadan, and Guinness World Records has approved him to take up the challenge. The chef has expressed his excitement and determination to break the record, saying that he has been preparing for this moment for a long time. The Governing Council of the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso, Oyo State, has appointed Professor of Art and Art History, Razaq Olatunde Rom Kalilu, as the new Acting Vice-Chancellor of the institution for six months.   Kalilu joined the services of LAUTECH on September 1, 1992 and was pronounced a Professor of Arts and Arts History in the Department of Fine and Applied Arts, Faculty of Environmental Sciences, 24 years ago on October 1, 1999. The Honourable Minister of Youth and Sports Development Chief Sunday Dare has commissioned an 80 Bed Mother-Child Hospital and Maternity in Ogbomoso, Oyo State. The fully equipped hospital is aimed at delivering quality healthcare for women and reducing maternal, neonatal, and infant mortality rates in the area. The multi-billion naira project was facilitated by the Honourable Minister himself, who is passionate about improving lives. The hospital will be handed over to the Federal University Teaching/College Hospital Ibadan. LAUTECH: Ogbomosoland Togetherness Youths, Backed Out Of Protest, Calls For Peace, Urge Makinde To Fulfil Promises

In the wake of the Ogbomoso LAUTECH recent protests, a youth foremost group Ogbomosoland Togetherness Youth Forum Worldwide, has released a statement distancing itself from the protest and calling for peace. The organization also urged the governor seyi Makinde led administration to act swiftly on his promise of making the university a conventional university with additional faculties in Ogbomoso Campus. The statement reads, "As a foremost youth community group in Ogbomosoland, we are deeply concerned about the recent anti-Lautech protest, we have had several consultations meetings with community leaders, group patrons and host of community stakeholders.
