One 'seriously wounded' as Nigerian Army attacked members of OCYF in ogbomoso.

Men of the Nigerian Armed Forces travelling towards the northern part of the country have attacked members of the Ogbomoso Community Youth Forum, OCYF, repairing the damaged portions of the federal A1 road that links southwest to the northern Nigeria via Ogbomoso.

InsideOgbomosonews correspondence gathers that Ogbomoso community youth forum, OCYF did embacked on a self-help community project to tackle the incessant route blockage, and traffic congestion on the spoilt portions of the roads at the heart of the city, the unpleasant situation caused by potholes and craters which has become nemesis and nightmare for Motorist and commuters.

According to the president of the youth organization to our correspondence, Rev’d Peter Olaleye the road rehabilitation work, a self-help project, was ongoing smoothly, without any issue, with traffic being effectively controlled until the soldiers arrived and started beating everyone.

“We tried to intervene but they would not listen even with the distinguishable jacket we put on and the excavator working on the site they still attacked us and everyone on sight. They beat me mercilessly too and as l speak to you l am in a hospital.”

A release by OCYF states, “Just now, Ogbomoso Community Youth Forum (OCYF) members were attacked while repairing the bad portion of the trunk A road at Caretaker area by men of the Nigerian soldier who were on their way to Borno state in a Hilux Van bearing this number plate, NA 086 B.”

It was further learnt that an unidentified victim has been rushed to the emergency unit at a hospital “and nobody knows whether he will survive or not.”
